Crispus Attucks High School

Crispus Attucks High School opened in 1927 as Indianapolis's public high school for African American students and is listed as a National Historic Landmark. The school is historically notable for its prominent boys' basketball program in the 1950s, including the 1955 state championship, and for its role in the city's African American educational and community history. Today it operates as a magnet high school and remains a cultural and historical touchstone in the neighborhood.
