Flood Building

The Flood Building at 870 Market Street was commissioned by banker James C. Flood and completed in the early 20th century as a prominent commercial building in downtown San Francisco. Located at the corner of Market and Powell, it survived the city's early-20th-century rebuilding period and features a classically detailed facade characteristic of Renaissance Revival/Beaux-Arts commercial architecture. Over the 20th century the building housed major retailers and newspapers and remains a landmark in the Financial District.
