Brighton Town Hall, South Australia

The Brighton Town Hall, located in Hove, a suburb of Adelaide, was built in 1869 and is one of the earliest town halls in South Australia. Designed by architect George William Highet, the hall served as a multifunctional space for local governance and community activities. Notable for its stone construction from Ayliffe's quarry, the building features a time capsule placed during its foundation ceremony. Over the years, it expanded to accommodate a growing population, including a larger library in the early 1900s. After serving various community functions, including a long-term lease to the RSL, the hall has been vacant since 2008. As a heritage-listed site, it remains a significant historical landmark in the region.
