42 High Street, Stokesley

42 High Street is a historic building located in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, England, originally constructed as a house in the early 18th century and later modified in the 19th century. Notably, it served as the residence of Dr Yeoman, the area's first medical officer. The building transitioned to council offices in 1938 and became a Barclays Bank branch in 1953, which closed in 2018. Plans are underway to transform it into a 200-seat community arts venue by 2025. This grade II* listed structure features distinctive architectural elements such as brick construction on a stone plinth, a Welsh slate roof, and elegant interior details including 18th-century panelling and a historic staircase, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
