St. John's Episcopal Church (Church of the Presidents)

St. John's Episcopal Church, Lafayette Square, is commonly known as the 'Church of the Presidents' because most U.S. presidents since James Madison have worshiped there or attended services. Located adjacent to the White House, the parish building dates to the early 19th century and has long been used for official and private Episcopal services attended by national leaders. The church continues to hold regular Episcopal worship services and occasional national ceremonial events.
