Blue Warehouse

The Blue Warehouse, or Det Blå Pakhus, is an 18th-century building located on the picturesque waterfront of Larsens Plads in Copenhagen, Denmark. Designed by architect Caspar Frederik Harsdorff and completed in 1783, it originally served as a storage facility for the Baltic-Guinea Company, handling goods like tobacco and sugar. After a brief operational period, it transitioned to a grain store and was listed as a historic site in 1946. In the late 1970s, the warehouse was transformed into modern condominiums, retaining its distinctive blue roof while the shutters have since changed to red. This charming structure offers a glimpse into Copenhagen's maritime trade history and architectural evolution, making it a noteworthy stop for tourists and researchers alike.
