Good Defeats Evil (Zurab Tsereteli)

Good Defeats Evil is a bronze sculpture by Zurab Tsereteli installed in Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza adjacent to the United Nations in 1990. The work depicts St. George slaying a dragon and was placed near the UN complex as a public, symbolic statement against war and violence. It was presented and sited as an outdoor plaza sculpture and remains a visible element of the public art landscape outside the United Nations. The piece is viewable from the plaza along the UN campus frontage.
