The Old Globe Theatre (Balboa Park)

The Old Globe Theatre in Balboa Park was originally constructed for the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition and has since become one of the United States' leading regional theaters. It hosts the annual Shakespeare Festival and maintains multiple performance spaces that present a year-round season; productions from the Old Globe have transferred to Broadway and received Tony Awards. The theater also runs educational programs and community outreach based at its Balboa Park location.
