Hald House

Hald House, a Neoclassical apartment building located at the intersection of Nikolajgade and Dybensgade in central Copenhagen, was constructed in 1799 for a master baker following the devastating Copenhagen Fire of 1795. This historic building, along with its adjacent warehouse, is recognized as a protected site in Denmark. Notable former residents include ballet master August Bournonville and actor Dirch Passer. The architecture features a distinctive chamfered corner, designed to facilitate fire department access, and the property currently houses law firms and an art rental business, making it a blend of historical significance and modern utility.
