The Vüze

The Vüze, located in the south end of Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a striking residential apartment building that stands at 106 metres tall with 33 storeys. Originally completed in 1971 as Fenwick Place, it was the tallest building in Atlantic Canada until 2023. The building has a rich history, including its transformation from a student residence for Dalhousie University to a privately owned apartment complex. Notable events include damage from Hurricane Juan in 2003, which led to extensive repairs and the temporary evacuation of residents. The Vüze features unique architectural elements, including an express elevator and a webcam on the 33rd floor, and has undergone significant refurbishment since its purchase by Templeton Properties in 2009. Its name change to The Vüze reflects its modern identity, making it a notable landmark in Halifax.
