The Lincoln Theatre - venue for historic African American performers

The Lincoln Theatre in the King-Lincoln Bronzeville neighborhood opened in 1928 and became a major performance venue for African American artists during segregation. Prominent performers who appeared at the Lincoln include Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Billie Holiday. The restored theatre now functions as a performing arts and cultural center serving Columbus audiences.
