Vessel (Hudson Yards)

The Vessel is a 16-story climbable public structure and art installation at Hudson Yards designed by Heatherwick Studio and opened to the public in March 2019. The honeycomb-like structure contains 154 interconnecting flights of stairs, roughly 2,500 individual steps, and 80 landings, intended as a public landmark and viewing platform. It was conceived as a site-specific installation integrated into the Hudson Yards redevelopment and has had changing access policies since opening.
