Institute of Contemporary Art (Seaport)

The ICA's current waterfront building, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro and opened in 2006, features a cantilevered glass pavilion extending over Boston Harbor. Its design emphasizes visual connection to the harbor and includes a large, column-free gallery space that enabled expanded contemporary-art programming. The building helped catalyze cultural development in the Seaport District and is a frequent site for public art installations and performances.
