Mission San Francisco de Asís (Mission Dolores)

Founded in 1776 as part of the Spanish mission system, Mission San Francisco de Asís (Mission Dolores) contains the oldest surviving structure in San Francisco, the original adobe mission chapel. The site includes an active basilica and an adjacent mission cemetery with graves dating to the late 18th and 19th centuries. Mission Dolores is a designated historic site and remains an active parish serving religious services, tours, and preservation efforts.
