John McLure House

The John McLure House, also known as the Hans Phillips House, is a historic Federal-style brick home located on Wheeling Island in West Virginia. Built between 1853 and 1856, this three-story dwelling features a semi-circular columned portico and a widow's walk added after the owner's death. It was the residence of Captain John McLure, a notable steamboat master and boatbuilder. The house is part of the Wheeling Island Historic District and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
