Survivor Tree (Callery pear)

The Survivor Tree is a Callery pear tree that was recovered damaged from the World Trade Center debris after the September 11, 2001 attacks, rehabilitated, and replanted at the National September 11 Memorial in 2010. The tree is presented as a living element of the memorial landscape symbolizing resilience and recovery. Cuttings from the tree have been propagated for commemorative plantings and the tree is maintained by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
