Hölderlinturm

Hölderlinturm, or Hölderlin's Tower, is a historic building in Tübingen, Germany, where the renowned poet Friedrich Hölderlin lived and died from 1807 to 1843. Originally constructed in the 13th century, the tower is situated along the picturesque Neckar riverfront. After being released from a clinic due to his deteriorating health, Hölderlin was taken in by master carpenter Ernst Friedrich Zimmer, who encouraged him to continue writing. During his time there, Hölderlin often wrote under the pseudonym Scardanelli and welcomed visitors from the nearby Tübinger Stift. Today, the tower is renovated and serves as the headquarters of the Hölderlin Society, making it a significant cultural site for both tourists and researchers interested in German literature and history.
