United States Post Office Garage

The United States Post Office Garage, located in South Boston, was a notable historic vehicle maintenance facility designed in the International Style by architect Gilbert Underwood and completed in 1941. This two-story building featured a distinctive exterior with scored concrete to mimic paneling and large steel sash windows, embodying the streamlined aesthetics of its time. It was recognized for its architectural significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, although it has since been demolished.
