Missing Post Office

The Missing Post Office, located on Awashima Island in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, is a unique art installation created by Saya Kubota for the Setouchi Triennale in 2013. This intriguing 'post office' collects undeliverable letters, allowing visitors to send messages to deceased loved ones, future descendants, or even themselves. Housed in a renovated building from 1964, the installation features 100 metal boxes that symbolize messages adrift, creating a poetic connection to the island's history of drifting items.
