San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) - Mario Botta building and 2016 expansion

SFMOMA was founded in 1935 and occupied a Mario Botta–designed building that opened in 1995. In 2016 the museum reopened after a major expansion designed by Snøhetta that significantly increased gallery space and public amenities. The institution is a major center for modern and contemporary art in San Francisco and the western United States.
