Norge Storage Site

The Norge Storage Site, located in Teller, Alaska, is a historic two-story wooden building notable for its connection to the 1926 voyage of the dirigible Norge, which famously overflew the North Pole. Commanded by explorer Roald Amundsen and Italian designer Umberto Nobile, the airship's journey began in Spitsbergen, Norway, but due to adverse weather, it landed in Teller, approximately 72 miles from its intended destination of Nome. Here, the airship was dismantled and stored until it could be transported. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
