Antazavė Manor

Antazavė Manor, located in Antazavė, Lithuania, is a historical residential manor that has undergone various transformations over the centuries. Originally owned by the Radziwiłł family in the 16th-17th centuries, it later came under the Broël-Plater family, who constructed a grand three-story palace and a beautiful park by Lake Zalve in the 18th century. The manor has a rich history, including connections to notable figures like Emilia Broël-Plater, who supported the November Uprising, and Ludwiga von Ropp, the first translator of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales into Lithuanian. After serving various purposes, including a commandant's office during WWI and an orphanage post-WWII, the manor is currently a care home. Visitors can explore the remnants of its historical architecture and the surrounding park, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
