Colexio de San Xerome

Colexio de San Xerome, founded in 1501, is a historic civil building located in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. Originally established as a preparatory school for university studies, it was moved to its current location on Praza do Obradoiro in the 17th century after being acquired by Benedictine friars. The building features a Romanesque entrance from its original site. Although it ceased to function as a colexio menor in 1840, it later served as a Teaching School and now houses the Rectorate of the University of Santiago de Compostela, making it a significant site for both educational history and architectural interest.
