Palacio Quemado

Palacio Quemado, or the Burnt Palace, is a historic site in downtown La Paz, Bolivia, serving as the official residence of the President from 1853 until 2018, and briefly from 2019 to 2020. Located on Plaza Murillo, it is adjacent to the La Paz Cathedral and the Bolivian legislature. The palace earned its nickname after being set ablaze during a revolution in 1875, leading to significant damage. Although it has been rebuilt and redecorated multiple times, the name has endured. Today, it functions as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into Bolivia's political history and architectural heritage.
