Asian Art Museum relocation to former Main Library

The Asian Art Museum moved in 2003 into the former San Francisco Main Library building at 200 Larkin Street. The museum’s collection includes more than 18,000 artworks from across Asia, representing ancient through contemporary periods and multiple regions including South, Southeast, East, and Central Asia. It is one of the largest museums in the Western world focused specifically on Asian art and hosts rotating special exhibitions and public programs.
