Temple of Apollo (Melite)

The Temple of Apollo, located in Mdina, Malta, is a fascinating Roman temple dedicated to the god of the sun and music, built in the 2nd century AD. Overlooking a semi-circular theatre, its architectural style reflects influences from both Carthaginian and Roman North African designs. Although much of the temple was lost over the centuries, significant remains were rediscovered in the 18th century, including marble pillars and inscriptions. The temple's history is intertwined with Malta's cultural evolution, having been repurposed in various local churches.
