Al Salam Palace (Kuwait)

Al Salam Palace, or 'Peace Palace', is a historic site and museum located in Shuwaikh, Kuwait. Originally envisioned by the late Amir Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah in the late 1950s, it was designed by architect Medhat Al-Abed and completed in 1964. The palace served as an official guesthouse for world leaders, hosting around 166 dignitaries, including the Shah of Iran and the Prince and Princess of Wales. After being damaged during the 1990 invasion of Iraq, it fell into neglect until a major restoration was completed in 2019. The palace now features a collection of rare artifacts and modern displays that showcase Kuwait's rich cultural heritage, making it a fascinating destination for tourists and researchers alike.
