The Pineland

The Pineland, also known as Black Swamp Plantation Summer House, is a historic home in Hampton County, South Carolina, showcasing late Federal to early Greek Revival architecture with Victorian modifications. Originally built as a summer house for the nearby Black Swamp Plantation between 1800 and 1865, it has served as a main residence since 1865. The house features a one-story design with a composition shingle roof and is elevated on a stuccoed brick pier foundation. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in Southern architectural history.
