Herman Building

The Herman Building, located at 1632 N. Vine Street in Hollywood, California, is a historic one-story structure built in 1928 by Carl Jules Weyl. Known for its Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, it features a distinctive false gable and Churrigueresque ornamentation. The building has a rich history, serving various businesses, including the famous Ham & Egger restaurant in the 1940s and 1950s, where notable celebrities were interviewed live on air. Despite attempts by the city to redevelop the area into a W Hotel, the building was preserved and restored, making it a unique landmark in the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
