Fox House (Lexington, South Carolina)

Fox House is a historic home in Lexington, South Carolina, built around 1832. This two-story frame dwelling features an impressive 11-foot deep porch and is connected by breezeways to two dependencies, which served as a kitchen and quarters for enslaved workers. Originally constructed for Jesse Bates, the house was later owned by John Fox, a prominent local figure. It became part of the Lexington County Museum in 1970 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it a significant site for tourists and researchers interested in Southern history and architecture.
