Arnold Arboretum (Harvard University's living collection)

The Arnold Arboretum is a 281-acre living collection and public research institution established through the bequest of James Arnold and operating since the 19th century under Harvard University. It is part of Boston's Emerald Necklace park system and maintains curated tree and shrub collections for research, conservation and public education. The landscape and plant collections function as a long-term, living installation open to visitors year-round.
