Schuster Building

The Schuster Building, located at the intersection of Bardstown Road and Eastern Parkway in Louisville, Kentucky, is a historic mixed-use structure recognized for its Colonial Revival architecture. Completed in 1927, it was once the largest mixed-use building in the Highlands, housing shops, offices, apartments, and the 1,100-seat Uptown Theater. After facing decline and eventual closure of the theater in 1989, the building underwent various proposals for renovation, ultimately leading to the removal of the theater and conversion of upper floors to office space. Despite changes, the building's exterior remains largely intact, serving as a local landmark that has influenced nearby developments. Today, it houses a restaurant and other businesses, reflecting its ongoing significance in the community.
