Aarhus Municipal Hospital

Aarhus Municipal Hospital, operational from 1893 to 2018, was a significant healthcare facility in Aarhus, Denmark, known for its departments in oncology, orthopedic surgery, and neurosurgery, as well as being a trauma center. Established by architect Thomas Arboe, the hospital underwent several expansions, particularly in the 1930s by C.F. Møller and Kay Fisker, showcasing Nordic functionalist architecture. In 2019, the hospital's functions were relocated to a new facility in Skejby, and the original site is set for redevelopment as part of the University Campus, known as Universitetsbyen. This transformation reflects the hospital's historical importance and its integration into the educational landscape of Aarhus.
