Circuit of the Americas hosts international motorsport competitions

Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is a purpose-built motorsports facility in southeast Austin that opened in 2012. It has hosted the FIA Formula One United States Grand Prix since 2012 (the event was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). COTA also stages the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas and other national and international racing series, making it the primary venue for high-profile motorsport competitions in the Austin area.
