Nutwood Place

Nutwood Place is a historic farm complex located on the northern edge of Urbana, Ohio. Established in 1815 by Colonel William Ward, the founder of Urbana, the site features a charming farmhouse and a distinctive round barn, both of which showcase well-preserved historic architecture. The farm, originally spanning 160 acres, has been owned by prominent local families, including commercial hatter Absalom Jennings, who enhanced the property in the 19th century. Recognized for its historical significance, Nutwood Place was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in Ohio's agricultural history and architectural heritage.
