Woodward's 43

Woodward's 43, also known as W43, is a striking 122.3 m tall mixed-use skyscraper located in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Inspired by New York's Flatiron Building, its design reflects the historical context of the area, featuring a unique steel skeleton and a rooftop garden with a pool. The redevelopment of the original Woodward's site, which had been vacant since 1993, was a significant project aimed at revitalizing the neighborhood, incorporating residential units, commercial spaces, and community services. The building now houses a mix of market and non-market housing, along with a daycare and a new campus for Simon Fraser University. The iconic 'W' neon sign has been restored and is a notable feature of the site, which also includes public art, making it a vibrant destination for both tourists and locals.
