Mission San Juan's agricultural role

Mission San Juan Capistrano was established in 1731 and developed extensive farmlands and ranching operations that supplied foodstuffs and livestock to the chain of San Antonio missions. Archaeological remains and restored structures at the site document the mission's agricultural and domestic economy during the Spanish colonial period. The mission site is administered as part of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.
