Oostershuis

The Oostershuis, meaning Eastern House in Dutch, was a significant kontor in Antwerp that marked the transition of trade from Bruges as its prominence waned in the late 15th century. Designed by the architect Cornelis Floris II and built around 1560, this historical building served as a hub for commerce until its closure in 1593. Unfortunately, it met its demise in a fire in 1893, but its legacy remains an intriguing part of Antwerp's rich trading history.
