White House Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC)

The White House complex includes a secure Presidential Emergency Operations Center beneath the East Wing that serves as a continuity-of-government command center. The PEOC has been used during national emergencies, including on September 11, 2001. The sub-basements and associated restricted tunnels are part of the White House infrastructure and are not open to the public.
