Gatehouse on Deerhill Road

The Gatehouse on Deerhill Road, located in Cornwall on Hudson, New York, is a historic one-and-a-half-story stucco building designed in the Norman style, featuring a distinctive tiled roof and a three-story tower with a balcony. Originally intended as part of a grand estate that was never constructed, the gatehouse became a residence for the Pagenstecher family in the 1920s. Although the main house was demolished in 1966, the gatehouse remains a notable example of a castellated structure in the Hudson Highlands, showcasing many original Norman-style interior features. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers exploring the region's architectural history.
