Peter Kirk Building

The Peter Kirk Building, located in Kirkland, Washington, is a historic landmark built in 1889 by the city's founder, Peter Kirk. Initially intended as the centerpiece of a steel production hub, the building has survived various economic challenges and urban shifts. It features stunning Victorian and Romanesque architecture, including a distinctive corner turret and locally sourced red brick. After falling into disrepair, it was saved from demolition in the 1960s and transformed into the Kirkland Arts Center, which continues to operate today, offering art classes and cultural enrichment. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and represents a significant piece of Kirkland's history and architectural heritage.
