Spanish Governor's Palace (Military Plaza)

The Spanish Governor's Palace is an 18th-century building in downtown San Antonio that served as the residence and offices of colonial Spanish officials who administered the Province of Texas. From this site, governors and military officers coordinated governance across a vast frontier that later became parts of both the United States and Mexico. The building is preserved as a museum illustrating Spanish colonial administration in the northern borderlands of New Spain.
