Regina Plant

The Regina Plant, an automotive manufacturing facility in Regina, Saskatchewan, operated from 1928 until its decommissioning in 2020. Initially producing popular brands like Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac, the plant faced challenges during the Great Depression and was repurposed during World War II as a munitions factory. After the war, it transitioned to various uses, including housing city departments. The building, which caught fire in 2017, is currently under consideration for demolition due to environmental concerns. The adjacent GMC Building remains in use due to its heritage status, making the site a point of interest for both tourists and researchers exploring the history of automotive manufacturing in Canada.
