Old West Palm Beach National Guard Armory

The Old West Palm Beach National Guard Armory, now known as the Armory Art Center, is a historic site located at 811 Park Place in West Palm Beach, Florida. Built in 1939 in the Art Deco style by architect William Manley King, the armory served the National Guard until 1982 and was a venue for community events, including high school dances. In 1987, it was transformed into an art center thanks to a generous donation from Robert and Mary Montgomery, who recognized the need for art education space after the closure of the Norton School of Art. The center has since become a cultural hub, offering art classes and exhibitions, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
