Gench-Ogluev House

The Gench-Ogluev House is a historic building located in the Leninsky District of Rostov-on-Don, Russia, at the intersection of Bolshaya Sadovaya Street and Semashko Lane. Constructed between 1880 and 1883, this architectural gem was designed by architect Alexander Pomerantsev and showcases a blend of Beaux-Arts style with Baroque and Gothic elements. Originally built as a revenue house for merchant Stepan Gench-Ogluev, it housed various businesses, including a printing house and a bank. The building has survived significant historical events, including damage during World War II, and has been restored to maintain its cultural heritage status. Today, it stands as a testament to the city's rich architectural history and is situated directly opposite the Rostov-on-Don City Hall, making it a notable stop for tourists and researchers alike.
