Dunlap Building (Indiana University)

The Dunlap Building, located on the Indiana University Indianapolis campus, is a significant part of the IU Medical Center, housing various Health Sciences departments. Constructed in 1978 at a cost of $9 million, it originally served as a facility for Wishard Memorial Hospital, featuring advanced medical services including an emergency room and radiology department. After a land swap in 2009, the building was transferred to Indiana University, which opted for renovations rather than demolition. Recent upgrades have enhanced its functionality for educational purposes, including the addition of modern study spaces. Named after Dr. Livingston Dunlap, a pivotal figure in Indianapolis' medical history, the building reflects the city's commitment to healthcare and education.
