Villa of Diomedes

The Villa of Diomedes, located near Pompeii, Italy, is an ancient Roman villa that showcases the opulence of its time. Excavated between 1771 and 1774, it features a grand peristyle, living spaces, and a terrace overlooking gardens. The villa's architecture includes two levels, with the lower level housing a large outdoor space and a summer triclinium. Notably, 36 bodies were discovered on-site, including a wealthy individual with a significant cache of coins.
