Fillmore Block

The Fillmore Block, now the Dows Mercantile Store, is a historic building in Dows, Iowa, completed in 1895 after a devastating fire in the commercial district. Designed in the Victorian Romanesque Revival style, it originally served various commercial purposes, including a restaurant and clothing store. Acquired by the Dows Historical Society in 1987, it was transformed into an antique mall featuring Iowa-made products and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in local history.
