Gas Works Park on the site of a former coal gasification plant

Gas Works Park occupies the former Seattle Gas Light Company plant on the north shore of Lake Union and preserves large pieces of industrial gasification equipment as park features. The park was designed by landscape architect Richard Haag and opened to the public in 1975, reusing and integrating the structures into a public recreation space. Its industrial remnants, picnic areas and views of the city make it a distinctive, somewhat hidden industrial-heritage park within Seattle.
