Jubilee Hall, Fisk University

Jubilee Hall at Fisk University was completed in 1876 as the school's first permanent building and is an early example of Gothic Revival architecture for an African American institution of higher education. The hall housed classrooms and dormitory space during Fisk's early years and became a symbol of post-Civil War educational advancement for freedmen. Jubilee Hall is preserved as a historic landmark and is located on Fisk's main campus in Nashville.
